Hak-Sung (Choi Min-Sik) era un genio de las matemáticas en Corea del Norte. Desertó a Corea del Sur y ahora oculta su vida pasada. Trabaja como guardia de seguridad en un instituto. Allí conoce al estudiante de secundaria Ji-Woo (Kim Dong-Hwi). Ji-Woo está a punto de abandonar las matemáticas, pero las circunstancias hacen que Ji-Woo pida ayuda a Hak-Sung.
