Rogelio Cerón es un falangista encargado de fusilar por cuestiones ideológicas a muchos de los hombres residentes en el municipio vizcaíno de Getxo al poco de concluir la Guerra Civil. Su visión del mundo cambiará cuando conoce a un niño al que le ha arrebatado a sus padres, sabiendo que cuando este crezca le acabará asesinando. Rogelio no podrá seguir siendo el mismo y vigilará la vida del niño e intentará tutelarle para evitar el sentimiento de culpa del pasado.
